ARCH DELUXE? Tuesday night, Milt Rosenberg's guests were beer mavens. I listened to a few minutes of the program, just long enough to hear about Goose Island Beer's Bourbon County Stout, which is flavor aged in bourbon casks (product reviews here and here.) That's intriguing, and a bit more convenient to buy than the Sprecher.

I turned off the radio when the guests began talking about the protocol for a beer tasting, including things like cheese and chocolate. Perhaps it is fitting that the National Liquor Bar is being sacrificed for a Walgreen's; to turn it into someplace suitable for this generalization of a wine-tasting would be a bit much.
