AND YET ANOTHER TRAIN WRECK IN PROGRESS? Seven wins could get Huskies bowl bid.

All Northern Illinois needs to do is win out and finish the regular season with a 7-5 record. [Mid-American Commissioner] Chryst said Garrett Wolfe and the Huskies' performance in the last four years would be attractive for a bowl consideration.“They would definitely have to get to seven wins,” said Chryst. “There is such great energy here. Being in the bowl mix the last several years, Northern Illinois' name is definitely out there. The MAC is guaranteed three bowl games - the Motor City, GMAC and International. Chryst said the likelihood of the conference receiving a fourth has intensified, with a fifth tie-in a possibility.

“It's still very early, but it looks like right now the Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego will have an open slot,” said Chryst. “It's tough to say (for a fifth bowl game). We are really going to be aggressive because we would definitely love to tell a story for some of our teams. There is a potential fourth game out there, but there could be more that may open up.”

It has nothing to do with money. It has nothing to do with money.
