NO PET GOATS. President Obama and the First Lady visited a Washington, D. C. charter school today. During the visit, the President quipped to the youngsters that he wanted to get away from the White House. Fair enough. The visit was in order.

In his sign-off from the evening national news, NBC Democratic Party hack newsreader Brian Williams expressed sympathy with the President's sentiments, noting that two of his appointments had to withdraw their nominations today, over a failure of his organization's vetters to catch some creative tax filing, and that five news organizations had one-on-one interviews with him that day.

That strikes me as a less trying day than a school visit interrupted by planes crashing into office towers.
