ORGANIZING THE RAILROAD READING. The latest print edition of Trains reports that the Milwaukee Public Library will be suspending access to the Milwaukee Road archives to permit a proper cataloging of the material. Perhaps amid those records is unambiguous evidence of 125 mph-plus running by Hiawatha steamers. Somewhere in the Zeidler Room paperwork is a request I left with the Milwaukee Road Historical Association volunteers to locate the November 1939 employee magazine that refers to such an event.
