THIS DEFIES PARODY. There are some universities at which "Orwellian thought police" is more than hype.
An avid member of a Pakistani university’s Anti-Sex League has sent an email to the entire university condemning a student for having pecked her boyfriend on the cheek, an act the emailer witnessed.
That's from University Diaries, who concludes, "But they can be particularly difficult in hybrid places like [Lahore University of Management Sciences], where there’s an effort to be culturally open in the context of a culture increasingly dominated by radicals who refuse compromise." There, the radicals are presumably Islamic fundamentalists, currently students, embarking on their long march through the institutions. Here, we've had lots of practice with identity-politics fundamentalists, whose long march through the institutions has been destructive.
