HARPER'S ANTICIPATES RUSH LIMBAUGH? In July of 2009, the magazine cover read Barack Hoover Obama. The radio talker has been using that nomenclature a lot recently. The comparison is diffusing.
In fifteen to fifty years, The American Economic Review and other journals will have the opportunity to publish work that might clarify whether the fiscal stimulus and other reforms of the last year or so were insufficient given the severity of the recession (the Harper's position, loosely) or introduced excessive uncertainty among consumers, investors, and entrepreneurs (the Limbaugh position, even more loosely).
