5.4.11
NOW THAT THE REAL WINNER IS DETERMINED. The Pope Center has some fun with the men's basketball tournament, first identifying the winner based on starting salaries. Duke blows away Princeton and Vanderbilt: intriguing as all salaries are stated in current dollars with no adjustment for regional purchasing power parity. They follow up with a bracket won by the university with the smallest outstanding student loans. Hampton University, a sixteen seed according to the pairing committee, does better by its students than Princeton with its endowments or Brigham Young with its Mormon charitable tradition.
