TWO FOR THE INLAND LAKES.

Big Foot (Wisconsin) scow sailors Harry Melges IV and Finn Rowe are thinking big, as in Olympic sailing big.  Yes, that Melges name might suggest some inherited human capital, and yet that is as nothing without the time on the tiller. "In [the 2014 E Scow Blue Chip at Pewaukee], the pair, along with three teammates, won all six races to take the top spot overall — an incredible accomplishment for a seasoned crew of racers, let alone a group of kids still in eighth grade."  Note, dear reader, the Inland Lake Yachting Association's Blue Chip regattas are the post-season: a crew must finish in the top three places in either of the summer Inland regattas or in their home club's principal racing series (usually the "A series" in the racing schedule) in order to be invited.  The kids start learning young on the inland lakes, and they're pretty good.

Get a good start and sail on the lifted tack!
