SO MUCH FOR AMATEUR ATHLETICS. Marquette University's Golden Chickens may be signing a contract to play the Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers.
But at least for the next five years, MU-UWM makes sense for its dollars and sensibility. Eventually, though, everything is about dollars and cents.
Most of the games will be at the Bradley Center, an arena made possible by a large donation from an Allen-Bradley heiress, with one game at the Milwaukee Arena, built years ago as a general purpose convention center. Without those capital subsidies, would either team cover incremental costs?
