OBSERVATION OF THE DAY. University Diaries.
Alabama A & M has stopped functioning. Corrupt, inept, the school’s finished. It continues to operate as a set of buildings inside of which taxpayer money is wasted.
A wag in the comments to one of the linked posts suggests that when the trustees go into civil disorder, the university itself is safe.

That is, if the university has some sense of itself as a university. As excess capacity, it's due for a mercy killing. There's a reason observers call University Diaries salty.
The situation fascinates UD, a veteran university-watcher. If a university falls in the forest, but no one gives a shit, does it make a difference? Does the university go on lying there, deadwood drawing state appropriations?
It certainly isn't in a position to offer academic integrity at a lower price.
