I PERSEVERE.

Naomi Schaefer Riley informs Chronicle of Higher Education readers of The Abyss Between High School and College.
New York taxpayers are getting duped. They’re paying for students to get a high school education twice. It amazes me that college administrators always seem to have a perfectly good sense of what is required to do college-level work but they can never pass that information along to high schools, or that high-school administrators simply don’t care.
Perhaps higher stakes, z.B., requiring high schools to reimburse higher education for remedial courses, might help.  Higher education's sugarcoating of the problem by renaming remedial courses as developmental suggests complicity among administrators of all types of Big Education in preserving the abyss.
