THAT PROTEST IS MOSTLY PEACEFUL. THAT MILK IS MOSTLY FRESH.

The city fathers of Wauwatosa have had enough.

Mayor Dennis McBride is implementing stricter enforcement to keep peace in the community. In a statement today, the mayor asks that all protests take place between the hours of 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Protests will also not be allowed on private property.

“We fully support the right to peaceful protest in Wauwatosa…but over time, there have been violations of law, both big and small. We want to make sure protests continue to be peaceful, and we can have a sense of order in our community,” said Mayor McBride on Wisconsin’s Afternoon News Thursday.

“We are also concerned about counter-protests which are starting to happen. That’s a volatile mixture, when you get people on opposite sides of a very heated issue.”

Yes, counter-protests aren't the old school, you-stand-on-your-corner-we-stand-on-ours; rather they are the old school you bring a club we bring a knife.  Some of what's in Wauwatosa's new policies seem obvious enough, e.g. no trespassing, no discharging of fireworks, no blocking roads, and yet the term "peaceful protest" has been so abused that the codification becomes necessary.

Not that the mob gives a darn.  "At 10 p.m., approximately 50 protesters locked arms and walked from the Milwaukee border to the Wauwatosa border, with squad cars nearby. Hours later, other protesters went to McBride's home, and placed caution tape around his front yard."
