SHUT UP AND TAKE IT.

Julie Kelly of American Greatness catalogues a long Train of Abufes and Usurpations.  "It doesn’t matter how many times the ruling class has misled us, either intentionally or purposely. After all, who are you to complain?"  That introduces a list of Facts submitted to a Candid World that ought be a more than compelling case to tell the nachalstvo to stuff it.

It's beginning.  "[U]nlike during the first lockdowns, which were to last for 15 days so we could flatten the curve of positive tests, many are not taking the undeserved punishment from their 'betters' without a fight."  That includes sheriffs and local police chiefs allocating resources to purposes other than enforcing the arbitrary ukases of governors, and a few elected representatives talking back.  It's long past time, though, for the legislatures to come back into session to enact public health measures according to the normal order of business, or to consider articles of impeachment to check those governors.

Telling the authorities to stuff it is as American as declaring your independence.
‘Happy the nation whose people have not forgotten how to rebel’, wrote the British historian RH Tawney. And unless something is done to address growing inequality and lack of upward mobility, this rebellious streak will return from the populists both left and right. As of now, the restored establishment lacks a viable vision to improve the lives of most Americans, particularly given their embrace of green ideology which makes broad-based economic growth all but impossible.
Perhaps the technocrats will be more circumspect about ordering people into "climate emergency" lockdowns in the future.  On the other hand, ordering the vassals about is something Joel Kotkin, who also wrote the article cited immediately above, has been warning us about even before the Wuhan coronavirus started scaring people.
