It has long been a complaint of mine that the proliferation of administrative-recommended terms and conditions in course outlines does nothing for faculty or student performance.  But what do I know, the deanlets are at it again.  "Seems quite inconsistent with basic academic freedom principles," saith Eugene Volokh, and perhaps the whole enterprise will collapse of its own weight.
