A fledgling robin, just out of the nest, sheltered in the lawn overnight.
An adult robin did check on this one a few times. He, or a sibling, also sheltered in the Victor E. Garden.
Let's hope those wings got working before one of the prowling house cats came across a midnight snack.
The turtles that come a long way inland from the decorative pond didn't fare so well.
What might the culprit be? One of those cats? Probably not a skunk, they leave traces? There are woodchucks in the vacant lots, as well as prowling 'coon and 'possum in the neighborhood. Something figured out the signature of a turtle nest, or sniffed out a snack.
