KAMALA HARRIS IS THAT MUCH WORSE.

Mitch "Shot in the Dark" Berg has not been a fan of Donald Trump.

I’ve never liked Donald Trump’s public persona.

I couldn’t quite bring myself to vote for him in 2016 – I wrote in Scott Walker.

And while Trump turned out to be a fine president on a policy level, I thought his behavior in the last few months of his presidency gave him a lot of baggage the GOP didn’t need – which was borne out in the 2022 cycle, and is certainly complicating this one.  His personality cult has, shall we say, underdelivered. I was on Team DeSantis before there was a Team DeSantis, and I’m already on his 2028 team.

But with all my ambivalence about Trump, the prospect of a Harris/Walz administration makes the notion of voting for a third party, a write-in or, heaven forfend, Harris herself impels me to do my darnedest to convince people, like I convince myself, to hold my nose and vote for Trump.

He then counts the ways. By all means, read and understand all of them.  In particular, pay attention to the way in which it will be necessary to destroy Our Democracy^(TM) in order to save it.  "The most terrifying thing about a Harris/Walz regime is that it would seek to redefine the deal between people, the states, and the federal government, and the separation of powers defined for each in the Constitution."  Yes, and hand off even more powers to the Professional-Managerial Class that has acquitted itself so well in the past quarter-century.

Unfortunately, Mr Trump still seems bent on doing everything but making the case that the Democrats deserve to be out of the presidency and Congressional majorities for a generation.

In the aftermath of the Trump assassination attempt, people around the former president described him as a changed man. Trump said he had ripped up his planned speech for the RNC in place of a new address emphasizing unity. He had the chance to do more than that: to rise above partisanship and lawfare and political violence and occupy the center ground of American politics with a pitch focused on the economy and immigration, all while hammering Harris for her radical past positions and the fact she was likely part of the Biden cover-up, pretending he was competent enough to run for reelection.

That’s a compelling pitch for the normie voters who decide elections. It’s one Trump was well-positioned to make. But he has so far proven himself either unwilling or unable to do so. And now here he is: stuck in a coin-flip race he should be winning by a mile.

That's with the Jarrett regency revealing their incompetence every day in many ways.

Turf them out.  And pay attention to your school board, your common council, your state legislative elections.
