INADVERTENTLY UNDERSTANDING WHY THERE ARE TRUMP VOTERS.

Massachusetts senator Elizabeth "Fauxahontas" Warren attempts to contextualize murder.
The visceral response from people across this country who feel cheated, ripped off, and threatened by the vile practices of their insurance companies should be a warning to everyone in the health care system.  Violence is never the answer, but people can be pushed only so far.  This is a warning that if you push people hard enough, they lose faith in the ability of their government to make change, lose faith in the ability of the people who are providing the health care to make change, and start to take matters into their own hands in ways that will ultimately be a threat to everyone.
She subsequently recognized that what might be a discussion point in a political science workshop is beyond the pale for an elected official. “Violence is never the answer. Period. I should have been much clearer that there is never a justification for murder.”

In her attempt to offer clarification, she also recognized a system failure that might generalize to other dimensions of governance.  “The number of people I personally hear from, both in my official capacity and as somebody who stops and talks to people in the grocery store about how hard it is to get medical care that people have paid their insurance companies for over and over and over, is a reminder that this system is just broken.”  Thanks, Obama.

It's unlikely that fellow shoppers are likely to bend her ear about soft on crime prosecutors or ineffective schools or the other accomplishments of the Jarrett regency.

When it comes to pushing people hard enough, Fauxahontas has a long track record of supporting policies that make people willing to vote for populists including Donald Trump.
Broadly speaking, the Elizabeth Warrens of the world do not help the Democrats win power or advance their ideas. Broadly speaking, the John Fettermans of the world help to achieve both. Were an alien to descend into America in the hope of discerning some patterns in our politics, one trend he would swiftly sniff out is that the country does not much like aloof Massachusetts progressives. Along with Minnesota, which produced both Hubert Humphrey and Walter Mondale, Massachusetts’s modern claim to fame is that it produced Michael Dukakis and John Kerry. There is, it seems, something in the way that lefties from Massachusetts behave that gives the electorate the heebie-jeebies. By excusing murder, Elizabeth Warren has confirmed that this habit will be tough to break.

As a matter of fact, one can construct a plausible case that Elizabeth Warren and her batty worldview are directly responsible for many of the Democrats’ current woes. It was Warren’s lurch into extremism that inspired Kamala Harris to adopt many of the positions she promulgated in 2019 — positions that Harris struggled to shed during this year’s presidential election. And it was the coterie of Warren-inspired White House staffers who successfully seized the moderate Joe Biden after his winning 2020 campaign and transformed him into a myopically left-wing president whom a majority of Americans came to loathe.
And here we are.

The good news is that Fauxahontas is getting reamed for that "but."  "Generally when you add but it seems like you're justifying whatever preceded it. Boilerplate condemnation rings a little hollow when you throw that little three-letter word in after."  She's also getting ratioed.
