BAR FIGHT.

It is the custom of the men of the Middle East to posture and bluster.  It's uncommon for a President of the United States to do so.  As James Joyner notes, "The Madmen Theory doesn't work when both sides are using it."  Sometimes, all you have left is to drop gloves and go.
Trump famously reneges on deals all the time, seeing compliance with terms he’s agreed to as foolish. He already dashed JCPOA, which was as good a nuclear deal with Iran as we’re likely to ever get, given the two sides’ leverage. At the same time, IRGC and other regime leaders clearly don’t care about the well-being of the Iranian people, so threats to bomb the country “back to the stone ages” are not particularly concerning. If anything, carrying out that pledge would cement America’s status as the Great Satan for generations.
As of noon, God's Time, there are air raids on military facilities on Kharg Island and Israeli planes are taking out railway bridges.  Make of it what you will that at 7 pm, Eastern Daylight Time, Our President is hosting a dinner, closed to the press, with the United States Ambassador to India.
