YOU MEAN RULES HAVE VALUE?

I enjoy some of the bulletin boards the future gym teachers put together.  It's still early in the semester, and here's the first one to go up.

The creators still have to work on their color contrast and letter sizes.  It is to that "Always follow the rules and listen to the teacher" that I wish to speak.  Oh, and that "sportsmanship and cooperation."  What happens when these future teachers run into the notion that cultural capital is something to deconstruct?  When somebody in the senior seminar, or perhaps a school board member, calls civility oppression?  Heck, if the children's stories about various cheeky steam locomotives provide the wrong messages about following the rules, what chance does a gym teacher have?
