THE STUPIDEST OBSERVATION OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR.

That's pretty bold on my part, as we're not yet to Labor Day, and yet, South Carolina's David G. Martinez has already taken the honor for "Poverty is not endemic to any culture or any society."  It's another in a long line of posts by people whose salary depends on keeping the ignorant ignorant to do anything, anything, to avoid inculcating bourgeois habits among people whose ancestors didn't discover them.

Here's the reality: poverty is endemic, anywhere and everywhere, and from among all the possible palliatives, only the emergence of a bourgeois commercial order ever put a dent in it.  I put one, and only one, question, to Professor Martinez.  "[H]ow would Messrs. Marx and Engels view the McDonalding of the developing world?"  The extension to a standardized form of education is straightforward.
