POKAZHUKA?

I found a video highlighting Russian women marching in the 2021 Victory Day parades in various cities.

I wonder how many parades use performers.  There's a standard form to these parades, with show troops in Tsarist uniforms bringing out a Red Banner and pacing off the unit spacings for the parades.  It appears as though some of the ladies are wearing customs inspector uniforms, and, for all I know, in the distant oblasts, the meter maid brigades might be marching.  Look closely, though, some of the troops seem a bit too tarted up, and their "eyes right" a little too coquettish, to be actual soldiers.

Once upon a time, Ukrainian march-pasts had a similar flavor.

In the past seven years, Ukraine have been on a war footing, and the ladies are now in battle dress uniforms on parade.

Perhaps the Ukraininans will get rid of their communist style parade step in future formal parades as well.  The video also suggests "Your mama wears combat boots" no longer has force as a taunt, as "Yes, and she kicked some Russian conscript ass back to the border with them" comes to mind as a riposte.
