LET'S PRETEND THAT PASSING LEGISLATION IS GOVERNING.

I'm no fan of "got a problem, get a program."

Perhaps the voters who voted were not in favor of Doing Anything More, and at least some of the eligible voters who didn't vote didn't see that What Was Done worked. If What Was Done had more than a little rent-seeking in it, all the better.

Thus, I'm not impressed with recent claims by acolytes of the Jarrett regency to put their figurehead president figuratively on Mt. Rushmore.  Recently Wisconsin senator Tammy Baldwin went to the virtual Recombobulation Area to make a video, transcript not yet released.  A service called Wisconsin Right Now released the pretense I call attention to.  "Wisconsin Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin insists that the Joe Biden presidency is 'one of the most successful administrations in generations. In terms of legislative accomplishments, it is one of the most successful administrations in generations. And passing legislation that will have generational impact, that will unfold over the next decade, is really striking.'"

We'll see whether carrying a national debt in excess of gross domestic product will be as productive now as it was in the early years of the American High, before people who should have known better squandered the Victory Dividend, or whether that "generational impact" will be in the form of the long emergency coupled with currency collapse and general disorder.

It certainly is the Donks' talking point these days, making it into Buckwheat's binder.

Q    He’s fine?

MS. JEAN-PIERRE:  — the President has done more in his three years — three and a half years as president than most modern-day president in what he’s been able to deliver.  He’s able to do that because he knows what he’s doing.  He knows how to deliver for the American people.

He’s able to make sure that we attack climate — the climate crisis with the Inflation Reduction Act.  He’s made sure that we were able to create 15 million jobs, 800,000 manufacturing jobs.  He was able to make sure that unemployment went down.  He was able to make sure that we are able to have Medicaid actually able to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies.  Something that no other — no other president has been able to do, this president has been able to do.

I think that tells you everything that you need to do by looking at his record.  And what you’re seeing right now is Republicans — instead of talking what I just listed about — what I just talked about, they’re really diving into these cheap fake videos.  And it’s in bad faith.  That’s what I’m saying.  What they’re doing is pure bad faith.  And it’s been fact-checked by many, including conservative fact-checkers.

I don't know, those official videos of Our President with five jump cuts in fifteen seconds strike me as expensive fakes in a way that excerpting a few seconds of Our President supposedly engaging with a paratrooper do not.  And bundling "the climate crisis with the inflation reduction act" is two lies for the price of one, and tossing in monopsony to boot fails to encourage.  I hope, though, that there are Libertarian and Republican strategists and publicists calling attention to the various ways in which those deliveries for the American people are that triple-decker toadstool and sauerkraut sandwich with arsenic sauce.
