The weekly round-up of pithy elaborations of traditional Cold Spring Shops themes follows.

4. The Original Sin of zoning. "That is why, in this 80-year-old church, located in the middle of town, there are only four pews. Everyone else must either sneak in their own chair or stand, as to not disrupt the order adopted through the zoning ordinance."
5. The Gerontocracy's death grip? "We don’t yet know what replaces them, but it is unlikely to look anything like today’s sclerotic and gutless elite."
6. He always was a lousy student. "Biden has long taken liberties with our constitutional history."

9. Rules are for the little people. "They only oppose it for you." "It" refers to legacy admissions to college, but it could apply to getting your hair done or meeting friends at a restaurant.
10. An unusual perspective on gentrification. “If you live in a community void of your culture and your history, then you’re no longer a community.”
11. What was I saying about the little people? "When it came to a collision between public-health and liberal politics, liberal politics won." Never mind that The Best and The Brightest have resurrected the Credibility Gap. "What we’ve seen repeatedly is the use of 'science'as an excuse for bullying people into going along with leftist policies, when there’s not any actual science involved."
12. Never underestimate Dementia Joe's ability to ... "The one thing this country doesn’t need to be ashamed of is its unifying idea, and our cultural and political leaders have somehow managed to turn even that into a source of division." Specifically, "Biden has become the champion of all things left-wing." We understand the grift: "When Democrats and left-wing activists speak of 'democracy,' they really mean 'progressivism.'"
13. Shut my mouth. "In a community that harbors a subculture that celebrates Baby Daddyhood and worships elite black athletes who beget multiple children across multiple women, we are to believe that WhiteSupremacy™ is the cause of failure to pay child support?" Why not, it might be a way of winning elections. "The infantilization of minorities is at the core of their political movement." Yes, and is everything worthwhile a manifestation of white supremacy?
14. Joe Biden is unfit to be president. Joe Biden is an angry, little, dementia patient. But he prospered. "Washington under Biden went full Third-world." He's the personification of a failed state.
15. Let's shut out the sun! "These people truly believe that they can control all of this." They also happen to be nuts.
16. Railroads have a good story to tell. "Freight trains operate over a heavily taxed and privately funded network, while 80,000-pound big rigs beat the tar out of publicly funded highways, don’t come close to paying their way, and contribute to traffic jams."
17. An Inconvenient Truth. "The Social Security system was fundamentally designed to provide benefits to all qualified workers who outlived their respective lifespans — not to become a worker’s complete retirement plan."
18. The illogic of so-called progressivism. "If the government policies enforced since [the mid-1960s], backed by trillions of dollars in spending, haven’t achieved the desired result, why do we believe they ever will?"
19. Dementia Joe, further antagonizing the communists in his coalition? "Elliott Abrams, enemy of human rights, apologist for mass murder, should have no place within spitting distance of any Democratic administration in any capacity."
20. Yes. Next question? "Should any student feel like they are wearing ‘AA’ scarlet letters for affirmative action on campus?"
21. Constrain the transgressivity, in order that you have less of it? "The abaya has no specific religious meaning and is often a simple fashion choice allowing girls to distinguish themselves from their peers, perhaps out of rebellion against mainstream Western culture." It's a reversible rebellion, isn't it? "There is always a way back from an ashram or trip abroad"
22. American Exceptionalism. "Only kings and tyrants rule until death."

24. Process is our least important product. "Stop confusing punctilious compliance with good performance." Provide room for emergence, particularly as reality comes up to bat. "In agile design, strategic plans are necessarily shorter; epistemic humility is a core principle."
