THE INDICATOR SPECIES OF THE STROAD.

I found the following clip on a Strong Towns post.
The voice is friendly, intimate, measured, detail-oriented, and humorous. There is a hint of non-venomous, non-judgmental snark. It’s your favorite, funny, smart colleague you might Slack with a couple times a week, if you’re in the business.
Watch the video, and judge for yourself whether the producer got the tone right.

Let me remind you, dear reader. "Cold Spring Shops, however, welcomes conversation about transportation policy on the merits of the modes, rather than on the ideology of the advocates."  I've often wondered whether the tone of transit or bike advocates is as much a turn-off to people who might be receptive to some of the substantive points (there's not enough money to maintain the roads using current methods of finance, it's impossible to have fast flow through commercial areas, and it's impractical to build your way out of congestion) and yet get encounter an off-putting level of preening from the oh-so-hip types.
