THE ELECTRIC PARK IN SYCAMORE.

The most recent entrant in the Hicks Car Works historic interurban photos series is the DeKalb Sycamore & Interurban Traction Company.  I was not aware there was an earlier electric railway promotion in the area, but there was.  "The company obtained the unused right-of-way of the Geneva Lake Shore & Northern Railroad, which had been incorporated in 1898."

In addition to the interurban running to the west end of the normal school administration building (now Altgeld Hall) it delivered materials, presumably interchanged off the Chicago Great Western at Sycamore, for the construction of what is now Williston Hall.
