CALIGULA'S HORSE DIDN'T SOLICIT TRIBUTE MONEY.

A candidate for Virginia's state legislature, Susanna Gibson, did.  The Hill offers just-the-facts reporting.
The release of a sex video made by a woman running for a House of Delegates seat in Virginia is roiling the race for the majority in the state’s legislative chamber.

Susanna Gibson and her husband livestreamed a video of them performing sexual acts on the website Chaturbate and asked viewers to pay them money, The Washington Post reported Monday.

Gibson, a nurse practitioner and mother of two children, has gained traction as an abortion-rights candidate running in the district outside of Richmond.

The seat represents one of the commonwealth’s most competitive districts. No one currently represents the district, which was redrawn in 2022. The district voted Democratic by just more than 1 point in the U.S. House race last year.

As a result, the seat has the potential to play a determining factor in which party will control the chamber after November’s elections. Republicans have a four-seat majority in the House of Delegates.
Power Line's John Hinderaker has more fun.
Consistent with the channel’s name, Susanna was the star of the show. Her husband was a necessary accessory, but definitely second fiddle. It was Susanna who would read chat messages from viewers and respond to them in various ways, often by requesting payment. The videos consist in considerable part of these interactions.

The sex itself, while XXX-rated, is predictable and unerotic, due to the fact that it is being performed for an audience. What is shocking is what Susanna says to her fans. The folks at Free Beacon took one for the team, not only viewing the videos but extracting Susanna’s interactions with her viewers, which I think a normal person will find appalling, coming from a candidate for public office.
Candidate Gibson apparently had enough shame left to deactivate the videos.  The Free Beacon screen shots will be there as long as there is a Free Beacon.  The photos are not safe for work, nor are they material that any self-respecting brakeman of the old school would post in his caboose.

Mr Hinderaker suggests that running an amateur porn star for public office is no different from running a vegetable or a corpse, or Caligula's horse: it's dependable votes on issues the Democrats claim to care about that matter.
Gibson tells her viewers that she is raising money “for a good cause,” and she filed for her House race during the time when she and her husband were active with hotwifeexperience, so it seems likely that the “good cause” was her political campaign. It is not clear, however, how much money she could have raised via online sex.

What I have reproduced above barely scratches the surface of the depravity we are dealing with here. It is, frankly, depressing. And yet, the Democrats don’t think Gibson’s cause is lost. They are trying to spin the story as involving the “leak” of a “sex tape” featuring Susanna and her husband, and casting blame on Republicans for the “leak.” As usual, they are betting on voter ignorance.

This story also tells us something about the decay of representative democracy. No one would seriously claim that Susanna Gibson is a person of talent or character who should be chosen to represent her constituents because of her sound judgment. No: she is a vote, plain and simple, and all Democrats vote alike. So who cares about her character?

Then there is the one issue that the AP mentions: abortion. You wouldn’t think that a woman who says she likes to be choked and hit and who offers to urinate in public for money would he held up as an icon by feminists. But there is only one issue that modern feminists care about. As long as Susanna Gibson will vote for unrestricted and government-funded abortion, up to and including the moment of birth, she will have their support.
Well, yes, if you're publicly proclaiming your receptivity to open marriages, there has to be a Plan C in case the Plan B fails.  But streaming this stuff on a service called "hotwife?"  "Seriously? If I were of a literary bent, I would describe her as 'Equine, both in features and in behavior, especially during estrus.'"

The Power Line post includes all manner of comments, including the predictable both-sides stuff.  If I had a prize to award, it would go to "Boy, have men completely won the battle of the sexes or what? First, we proven we're better woman athletes than women are. Then we've successfully convinced women that peak feminism is streaming sex acts on the internet for money. Game, set, match, t-shirt."
