THE RETURN OF VERBAL TERRORISM.

That was the locution Sixties loudmouths, so sure of themselves, sometimes used to describe the disruption of presentations or job interviews that were contrary to their tight priors.  I'm not sure what locution, if any, the current cohort of loudmouths uses, but the effect is the same.
A group of trans-activist students had to be escorted by campus police out a speech by former Campus Reform Editor in Chief and current Daily Wire editor Cabot Phillips on Friday night at the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt).

Campus Reform has covered the turmoil leading up to the event at the public Pennsylvanian institution. The event was hosted by the University’s Turning Point USA chapter and funded by the Leadership Institute, the parent organization of Campus Reform.
I'm not sure what public ownership of the means of production has to do with snipping off your means of reproduction, but the propensity of socialism to attract the freakazoids has long been a phenomenon.
Various signs carried by protestors were sponsored by the Party for Socialism and Liberation. Signs included phrases such as “Fight for Socialism and LGBTQ Liberation.” Other signs read “Trans Rights Now,” “Unite and Fight for Liberation,” and “Trans Lives Matter.”
What these thin-skinned freakazoids are mostly liberating themselves from is any exposure to differing points of view.  Apparently champion swimmer Riley Gaines, who isn't crazy about swimming against male-to-female crossers, also appeared at Pittsburgh, and the self-same verbal terrorists wanted her to go away.  "These morons are afraid of Riley Gaines. They don’t want a highly-accomplished NCAA swimmer to come to their precious liberal campus to exercise her First Amendment rights. Lord forbid they expand their minds. And they have the nerve to call HER a fascist."

Color Daisy, of Chicks on the Right, less than impressed.
Make no mistake – progressive privilege is real, and so is mental illness. Both are rampant in this country, and yup – I’m calling out all the misguided coddling while ACTUAL WOMEN GET CANCELLED. Because actual women are, in fact, the ones being pushed to the back of the room, destroyed little by little, while feminists stand in the corner with their thumbs up their arses. Or worse yet? They’re aiding and abetting the cancellation. So-called feminists are so busy falling right in the woke line and fawning all over the biological men who appear to so effortlessly rule them.
She also quips, "we used to expand our minds in college" (and I suspect she's not referring to some kind of mushroom) but that's not at all what Orwell's sex maniacs, nature-cure quacks, and phesbian leminists are about.  "Over 11,000 people have signed the petition for the University to cancel the Phillips event along with a Riley Gaines speech scheduled for March 27 and a debate between Michael Knowles and Dierdre McCloskey in April."

I read that petition, dear reader, so you don't have to.
On top of this, there is a "debate" over transness being hosted by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute via Pitt Republicans, which features Michael Knowles and Deirdre McCloskey on April 18th, 2023, at the O’Hara Ballroom. Just last week, Michael Knowles explicitly advocated for the “Eradication of transgenderism” at the Conservative Political Action Conference. This language directly threatens violence against trans individuals. It once again violates the University of Pittsburgh’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and the University of Pittsburgh’s Nondiscrimination, Equal Opportunity, and Affirmative Action Policy (CS 07). This harassment and antagonism are not part of the exercise of free speech; they are intended to normalize the marginalization and incite action against trans individuals and would not be tolerated by the Pitt administration for other groups on campus. Debates about human rights and the validity of the existence of queer and trans individuals, and anyone within our community, are not debates; they are incendiary and hateful propaganda that destabilizes what we are all working for in building community at Pitt.
There's no mention of the other participant in the debate, economic historian Deirdre McCloskey.  Isn't that special, the woke mob invisibling a person?  I don't know much about this Michael Knowles, but he's asking for trouble hoping to score rhetorical points against Aunt Deirdre, and I bet even the most vocal of wokesters might learn something from attending and listening.

Pittsburgh deanlets apparently allowed both the Phillips and Gaines presentations to take place, and I hope to report that the April debate takes place.  My betting line, should it take place, is on McCloskey and the points.
