INCREDIBLE VICTORY. Book Review No. 27 is Hugh Bicheno's Midway. Again, this is probably of greater interest to Navy buffs, although the maps are among the more comprehensive I've seen, and the tables attributing hits to individual pilots in the U.S. and Japanese dive-bombing squadrons are instructive and sobering. The author does more digging into cultural and social influences on warriors in the adversary powers; that he refers to Progressivism as a milder manifestation of Social Darwinism suggests a reader ought consult additional sources.
