The Northern Illinois win at Georgia Tech didn't get much mention on local sports radio or television, although losses by Illinois and Northwestern (and the Wisconsin failure to put Penn State away) did get mentions. It's always fun to see a team go into another stadium, take the lead late (going for two with not much time left rather than kick the extra point) and then force a field goal attempt from long range and blocking that.
I'm still of the view that College Sports, Inc. are moving toward sixty-four teams in four power conferences, and another sixteen in the not-quite range. All the same, if the resulting league structure had flexible conferences with relegation (although that could make a mess of all sorts of rivalry games) these Boneyard wins might serve for making Mid-American teams candidates for elevation, and the teams that think they are buying wins by scheduling Mid-American cupcakes move onto the relegation list with a loss.
