DISPATCHES FROM THAT SIMMERING INSURGENCY.

County Fair season is winding down, with the school busses returning to their appointed rounds and some trees beginning to change colors.  But the populist insurgency continues to be profitable.

The tee-shirt designers have been able to come up with several thematic presentations of Try That in a Small Town.  Rich Men North of Richmond might be too new yet to prepare the silkscreens.

For the first time in my experience, though, I've encountered Trump flags as possible prizes at the midway arcades.

Those are from the Dodge County Fair, outside Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.  The 4-H projects sometimes have an edge to them as well.

I have been compiling pictures of the more conventional 4-H projects and hope to offer that more cheerful fare once the school year is again under way.
