"Steer course two-four-zero" sounds better than "Make your course 1.5π."  That noted, all those radians that crop up in trigonometry do so because the formulas work out that way, even though I have not stumbled across an intuitive way to introduce the concept of radians and then the formulae.

That noted, this weekend brings Selection Sunday, and perhaps something transcendentally tasty is in order.
