The UWM men's team currently has a lease with the Wisconsin Center District to use the U.S. Cellular Arena. University administrators have argued that a new on-campus arena could boost support for the men's and women's teams. The university, not so obviously a commuter university, now has more students in residence, and its administrators claim to enroll more Wisconsin residents than Madison. The lease for the Arena (site of the Milwaukee Bucks' only championship series) is apparently expensive, and attendance falls well short of its capacity. On the other hand, the university will be building a smaller arena closer to campus ... for Horizon League games.
