“The Delta Eta Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon is aware of a serious incident involving a former member of our organization this past weekend,” the post reads. “Effective immediately, the individual has been removed from the chapter and is prohibited from participating in chapter activities or returning to the chapter house.”Nearly four and twenty years of Cold Spring Shops with no prior mention of the Tekes in our posts.
The fraternity’s statement doesn’t mention a stabbing specifically, but said the incident, which was not fraternity-related, “occurred independently” of the chapter, based on available information.
“The Delta Eta Chapter does not condone violence or serious misconduct,” the statement reads. “The alleged actions of this individual do not reflect the values, expectations, or standards of conduct expected of our chapter and its members.”
The usual sorts of start-of-semester follies are under way, at Northern Illinois University and elsewhere, and we'll have more coverage of them next week.
