BREAKING THE CARTEL. The Superintendent has long maintained that college football's Bowl Championship Series hosed the Northern Illinois Huskies and in general systematically hoses the mid-majors. Sports Law looks at some legal maneuvering behind the scenes leading to the creation of an additional bowl game. Hosing takes on a somewhat different cast if it becomes a conspiracy in restraint of trade.

A national college football playoff, on the other hand, would be a mistake. Not all fans crave a "true national champion."
