WHAT WILL THEY LEARN?
The latest American Council of Trustees and Alumni performance reviews for higher education are out. Northern Illinois University failed to impress. Of the seven dimensions the organization views as necessary for a proper core curriculum, there's only a composition requirement. Given all the fulmination I'd engaged in over the years about that composition preparation leaving much to be desired, I have to wonder if that requirement is present in name only. As, apparently, it was ten years ago.
