A PROTOTYPE FOR EVERYTHING.

Some years ago I found somebody's attempt at building an interurban car that never got finished and wound up as a bargain purchase at a swap meet.

My thinking: perfect control trailer to pair with a doodlebug.

Now comes "Unexpected New York Central" at Hicks Car Works, and among the photographs, a Michigan Railways heavy steel combine, repurposed as control trailer MT-9.

The prototypes all went for scrap.  The model is back in the shop line somewhere, awaiting onboard power to be put on the doodlebug first.
