FASCHINGSDIENSTAG.

In Milwaukee, people pronounce "paczki" differently than their counterparts in Detroit or Chicago.  Perhaps you know them, as I do, as Berliner, or perhaps as a cream-filled Bismarck.

Looks like several more weeks of deep freeze coming, proper for fasting, penance, not following the news of Bruce Jenner or any Kardashians, and working on the railroad.

These showed up in our Wal-Mart (!!!) last spring. Like there's a bunch of Polish/German-Americans celebrating Easter in predominantly Mormon southern Utah.

But I bought several boxes of them for my half-Polish kids, who loved them.

I hope Wal-Mart is carrying them again this year.
