The custom at Green Bay Packer training camp is for local kids to offer the players the use of a bicycle to ride back to the locker room, and the kid carries the player's helmet.

This photo, from a year ago, shows what happens when a very little girl offers the use of her trainer bike.

Instead of "this bike is way too small," "Here's my helmet, I'll carry your bike."
