On the other hand, the yardmasters welcomed the distraction, as on any model railroad, the distance between towns is so short that the yards quickly become overwhelmed, and with all the road operators stretching out their motive power on the circus extras, the yardmasters were able to get caught up, even taking some time to record the passage of the trains.
