THE LIMITATIONS OF TECHNOCRATIC EXPERTISE.

It's likely that some version of a piece of academic humor that might have been "The Laws of Humanistics" or perhaps "Rules for Experimenters" is still making the rounds in the dorms and frat houses.  One of the entries read, "If facts do not conform to the theory they must be discarded."

Perhaps it is in taking that rule seriously that one Anthony Fauci, M.D. was rewarded by becoming the highest-paid Washington bureaucrat.  Texas authorities have lifted many of their corona ukases, going so far as to allow baseball teams to fill their stadia, and disaster has not followed.  So the doctor is looking for epicycles.  “It can be confusing because you may see a lag and delay because often you have to wait a few weeks before you see the effect of what you’re doing right now, There are a lot of things that go into that. When you say they’ve had a lot of activity on the outside, like ball games, I’m not really quite sure. It could be they’re doing things outdoors.”

That's the sort of thing that gives purchase to assertions such as Donald Trump's "we are being governed by stupid people," or George Wallace's "pointy-headed professors who couldn't park a bicycle straight."

It also isn't wearing well with Normals who have long since seen through the tyranny.

Fauci claims that there is COVID fatigue, and he is right.  I don’t know anyone who isn’t sick and tired of being locked down during the past year.  However, what the MSM and Dr. Fauci don’t understand that there are many Americans who have Fauci fatigue.  And unlike the COVID cases in Texas, that number is growing.

The article also notes that the one thing Texas has been doing a lot of is testing? Why don't we hear Nancy Pelosi chanting "testing, testing, testing" any more? Is it because the testing is making clear that the corona tyranny is now a greater threat to our health than the Wuhan coronavirus?
