FREEDOM WEEK WENT INTO OVERTIME.

This year, the DeKalb band concert with fireworks took place on Independence Day, and the Kirkland fireworks closed out their several-days-long festival Saturday evening.

The pyrotechnicians set up on the high school (Kirkland Hiawatha, is ferroequinology involved?) baseball field, and apparently there is a bit of programming presented at the adjacent football field.  There is also plenty of unobstructed viewing available from front yards, where many of the residents were launching their own pyrotechnics, and along the section roads, where I set up the camera, as well as in the adjacent city park that was home to a carnival and some county-fair-like sales tents.

The video features a "call attention" salvo that preceded playing of the National Anthem, another salvo during the show plus a few of the high shots.  Somebody managed to get one of those candle-in-a-lunch bag "UFO" gags airborne and that concludes the video.
