Today was a gorgeous day for a walk to the coffee shop during the three p.m. hour, so no Pi Day post at just before 4 pm.  Here's a recollection from a few years ago, about the role of pi in the trigonometric funtions.  Although radians aren't intuitive, particularly if you're brought up on degrees, there are a few tricks following therefrom for capturing the jagged with the smooth.

And, if you're worried about having some pie during Lent, recall that sin(π) = 0; and if you've had some pie, your sin actually decreases if you have a little more!

Apparently, today is also National Potato Chip Day.  Time to sine off and chow down.
