The world we live in.  A rambunctious boy risks being screened for "hyperactivity" and being drugged.  An inquisitive boy  capable of staying on task risks being screened for autism spectrum and whatever follows next.  A boy who thinks he's a girl joins a protected class.  It's too much for Camille Paglia, perhaps the most Tory of the transgressives.
Parents are now encouraged to subject the child to procedures that I think are a form of child abuse. The hormones to slow puberty, actual surgical manipulations, etcetera. I think that this is wrong, that people should wait until they are of an informed age of consent.
I wonder if this is progress ... that which used to be normal is now a disorder of some kind, and that which used to be a disorder is now a kind of normal.
